La Alianza’s first general body meeting was a success! 1Ls, 2Ls, and 3Ls met for lunch and discussed what it means to be part of the organization. Together, we reminisced about the previous year and previewed the events the board has planned. The board also announced the available board positions for first-years as 1L Representatives.
The last 30 minutes of the meeting were reserved to platform the Latine Journal of Law & Policy (LJLP) and encourage students to join the team for their 37th volume! LJLP was started in 1981 and uses its legacy to publish scholarship that centers Latine conditions, communities, and identities. The board encouraged anyone interested in this scholarship to join.
At the end of the meeting, La Alianza thanked its 3Ls for all the work that they did in the previous year. Transitions could be difficult, but we are thankful to have had such a remarkable group of law students to pave the way for the current board and first-year students.
